 Presently, the easiest way to
gift is to use
PayPal. PayPal is free and simple to join and may be
tied to your bank account or credit card for the purpose
of transferring funds to and from your PayPal account.
But you new PayPal account must first be verified
through an existing bank account. Then, once your PayPal
account is six weeks old, you can apply
for a free Visa branded debit card as a means of accessing
funds.
The verification process is straight
forward and may be done in two manners:
1) two small deposits are placed in your bank account
($.11 and $.09 for example) and once you access these
deposits, enter them into the PayPal verification
process and your account becomes verified.
2) an instant electronic verification which requires
your bank account login information. This is between
your bank and PayPal and is considered safe.

PayPal account
here. PayPal is ideal for smaller gifting and is
basically free, and of course, the PayPal Visa debit
card is accepted everywhere. And remember, you can move money between
different PayPal accounts for free - including between accounts of
those being
gifted. Simply use the Personal Tab> Gift
toward the end of your transaction. More on that later.
There is another system called
SolidTrust Pay (STP) out of Ontario Canada that is a
bit more sophisticated, has an agreement to work with
GGC and offers the same benefits as PayPal, though it
has
a bit of expense associated with it. It is better for
larger gifting exchanges. It also offers a Visa branded debit card
for $35.
One might begin with PayPal and move
to STP as one becomes more aware of the subtleties of
GGC, PayPal and STP.
Digital Payment Solutions
1) Gifting Through PayPal
For those who wish to send your gift through
PayPal,
here are the instructions:
1. Open* or access
your PayPal account at
www.PayPal.com
2. Click on the “Send Money”
tab at the top of the page
3. Type in the person’s email address
4. Fill in the amount: $150
5. Click on the “Personal” tab
6. Check the box for “Gift”
7. Hit “Continue”
8. Review the transaction
9. Under Message: type in
"GGC: and your screen name"
10.Hit “Send Money”
11.Hint: Be sure to go to your back office and confirm
that you have sent your gift.
For those who wish to receive gifts
through PayPal, simply give the gifter the
email address associated with your PayPal account.
Transfers are practically immediate.
*If you do not have a PayPal account,
you may open one for
free. For the account to be usable,
it must be verified by an existing bank account which is
easy to do, and you can then gift by drawing from your
bank account.
Another way to fund your PayPal account for gifting is
to go to your favorite drugstore/grocery store and
purchase a $5
MoneyPak card to load your PayPal account
immediately. Please contact your sponsor if you have
questions.
If you are just opening
a PayPal account for the first time, use your common and
everyday used email address. Using PayPal is simple.
(Note: you generally only gift once from your own
personal funds.)
2) Gifting through SolidTrust Pay
Gifting and the receipt of gifts through
SolidTrust Pay (an Ontario, Canada organization similar to
PayPal) is a great alternative to PayPal. Generally,
once you move into higher gifting amounts, SolidTrust
Pay may be preferred because PayPal may be discovered to
be a bit "straight-laced" and conservative, and having
an alternative is a great idea.
Further, because SolidTrust Pay is located in
another country, the requirements and identification are
a bit less stringent. I would recommend that once you join
Global Gifting Connection, that you
make application at STP as an alternate, back-up, second account.
It is important
to note that as soon as you complete the first
phase of creating your account - which only takes
moments, even before the
Identification verification process for larger
transactions, you can instantly receive up to
$999 a day and send out up to $500 a day! Once you
complete the Identification verification process, your
account can handle up to $9,999 per transaction, etc.
And, after your account is verified, you can apply for a
Visa branded debit card as an additional means of
accessing your account. To join is simple:
1) Go to
SolidTrust Pay
2) Review the "account types" and choose "sign up." Either
the personal or business account is acceptable.
3) Complete the form using straightforward answers
because of the verification process. For example, use a
telephone number with a billing address that is the same
as the address you submit.
Note: There is a requirement to submit a copy of your
telephone billing statement that identifies your
address.
Note: For Americans, there is no SSN requirement.
4) Make sure you are complete and submit the form. Be
sure to write down your login and password
5) Very quickly you will receive an email asking you to
verify your email address. Please do so.
6) You will then be directed to the SolidTrust Pay Login
page. Enter your login name and password. You may have
to go though this several times. You may possibly have to reset
your password, you may have to verify your ISP address
with another email verification but just stick with the
process.
It is all manageable.
7) Once you are in, if you had to reset your password,
update it at Security Zone> Change Account Password.
8) Otherwise, review the different segments according to
your welcome email and then go to My Verifications>
Verify Account Now.
9) You can start with the Active Account and immediately
begin to receive gifts. Additionally, it is suggested that you
apply for the
Verified Account by submitting two Identification
documents - a valid government-issued ID and a telephone
bill.
10) Choose a driver's license, passport or other
government-issued up-to-date identification and scan it such that
it is easily read when received by STP.
I have found that scanning the ID's to PDF files is the
easiest. I then attach them to an email and send to
verifications@solidtrustpay.com. Verification can
take up four business days.
Or, you may upload the scanned docs at the STP website, but
they are required to be blown up in a .jpg or .gif format at
about 150 - 300 dpi.
Or of course, you may photocopy and enlarge your
identification documents and fax them to 705 731-0341.
hmmm simple!
Note: Be sure to
include your screen name with your verification
documents.
11) You will also need to include a telephone bill indicating
the telephone number you used in your application
process with your name and address showing. It is
possible to get this as a screen shot off the telephone
provider's website or copy or scan your telephone bill.
12) Further, if you wish to tie a credit card or debit
card to your new STP account for the purpose of funding
or transferring money at some future date, include the
front side of your debit/credit card with your documents
and complete the Credit Card Authorization Form at My
Banks and Cards> Add Credit/Debit Cards. This is not a
requirement but a good idea.
13) After the verification process is complete, you can
make application for a STP Visa Debit card for a cost of
$35.
